1500 B.C is how far back the Taboor goes to. Though originally an Iranian instrument, the Tanboor is now played in Turkey,
Egypt, Syria and Greece. The fingerboard of the modern day Tanboor is larger than the ancient Tanboors. Sufis, Kurds and Kermanshahis
all play the Tanboor as well as other Iranians.
